PS4 will launch globally this year, says GameStop Executive

Sony will launch the PS4 worldwide in 2013, according to a GameStop exec. but says the company will be unlikely to meet the initial demand.
Sony revealed plans for its next-gen console, PlayStation 4, at their event in Februrary and have recently revealed some more details on the hardware at GDC earlier this week.
According to GameStop executive Michael Hogan a release date could be as earlier as this year, "We know that Sony will introduce the PlayStation 4 globally in 2013, but we are still waiting to see what Microsoft's final plans are," Xbit reports.
it has been previously rumoured that the console would hit the US and Japan, or Japan only this year, whereas Europe and Australia would have to wait until 2014.
President of GameStop, Tony Bartel suggests that, "Although we have been given no official numbers by Sony, we do believe that demand will far outpace the supply of this product during the launch window." Much like the Google Nexus 4.
Sony have remained ambiguous on the release date announcing during their New York press conference that the console has a Holiday 2013 release date. A 3D concept render of the PS4 was unveiled earlier this month.
